Data Directories

README for Block Lab data directories.

The main data server in the lab is named 'mola'.

Generally the data of interest on mola is found in the TOPP directory,i.e., //mola/TOPP

Tag data is spread across several directories:

Tuna (ABFT, PBFT, YFT and Albacore) are located at /TOPP/Tuna.
Marlin (Black, Blue, Striped and White) are located at /TOPP/Marlin.
All other fish species are located at /TOPP/FishGroup/Recovery.
Sharks are located at /TOPP/SharkGroup/Recovery.

Once you find your target species the location of data varies in the
same way as above:

Tuna - All species have a sub-folder named 'Recovery' where the data resides.
The individual tag data folders are separated in Recovery by different tag types,
e.g., 'ltd2310' for Lotek archival tags or 'PAT' for most/all PAT tags.
The structure of the PAT directory is a little different than the rest. At the
top level of PAT are all tags that have been recovered in some way (tag and/or fish).
All tags with transmitted only data and where the animal was never recaptured
are in a sub-folder named 'popup', i.e., /Recovery/PAT/popup.

Marlin - All have a 'Recovery' sub-folder containing the individual tag data.
All recovered tags are at this top level. Transmit only tags are in a
sub-folder named 'popup', i.e., /Recovery/popup.

The rest of the fish and all the sharks share a similar structure to marlin
minus the 'Recovery' sub-folder. The recovered tags are directly under the
species name folder, and the transmit only tags are in popup, i.e.,
/medSpearfish/popup.

Acoustic data (both downloaded detections and project related metadata) is located
at /TOPP/Acoustic

There is DNA project metadata in /TOPP/DNA, /TOPP/FishGroup/DNA, and
/TOPP/SharkGroup/DNA.

Field related data for specific projects can be found in /TOPP/FishGroup/Fieldwork
and /TOPP/SharkGroup/Fieldwork depending on species.

All things TRCC can be found at /TOPP/TRCC/TRCC (we have no idea why there are
2 TRCC directories).

All things tag management can be found at /TOPP/TAGMANAGEMENT.

If you want to share any slides/plots with the lab then use /TOPP/slides.

The /TOPP/projects directory is a miscellaneous data folder.

The /TOPP/Data directory contains data from the old days of the Lab, i.e., <=2008.
